Good day, dear reader. Today, as promised, I'm talking about my findings on the Internet. About programs for simple and fast construction of patterns. And I'll tell you about those programs for constructing pattern drawings that I use. They are all different and all have their pros and cons.
So: at first I will tell about the first program.
Valentine Program
I put it first on the list after I worked for several years with such programs for building patterns as: “Assol. Available parameters" (paid), RedCafe (free and paid version), Cutter (paid).
Because it contains the most wonderful option for constructing a drawing using any method from all known to me. This is an opportunity to build a parametric pattern.
This is such a template that does not need to be rebuilt every time - but it is enough to change the client's measurements and the drawing is automatically rebuilt to the desired size. This is great.

To build an accurate basis, I immediately created such a pattern of parametrics for myself. I entered the necessary measurements to build the basic base of a dress with a sleeve and now I use this file like this: I take measurements, enter it into the program, rebuild the size of the base, print out the pattern.
Cutter program
For a long time I studied on the Internet the topic of the fastest and simplest construction of patterns. And found one in part free program , she is called "Cutter". Partially free because it has a lite free version called Cutter 1.44 lite. In this free version it is possible to calculate and build only waist products and print them out - which is very good. That is, this version of the program is completely without restrictions in use - there are just few models. Copy it and paste it into your search engine. Download there. There is also a paid version - "Cutter 2.57" - everything is described on the author's website.
In general, what I want to say is that I am simply delighted with the Cutter program and bought the paid version. It costs $ 40. But I did not regret it. Does it all look like a PR program? No, I do not advertise, but only talk about the possibilities and disadvantages of the programs that I have in my arsenal.
So what can the program do:
First, no installation is required. You can even run from a flash drive. Run the program, enter the values of your figure measurements, click "calculate" and voila - your pattern is on your screen. Next, print it out, glue the sheets and use the pattern. Everything about everything takes about 5-7 minutes. And then, it takes more time to glue the leaves.
I liked it very much. After all, building a pattern from scratch with pens takes at least 30 minutes - and even then the pros. And this is such a time saver!
The pattern is accurate - 19 figure measurement parameters are taken into account. Only without taking into account the individual characteristics of waist darts. Those who have studied my course on the construction of a dress pattern: they will understand me. But, in principle, the finished pattern is easy to correct in the tuck area.
The only, probably, minus of this program is that there is no possibility of pattern modeling. The program builds only the basic foundations of products - men's and women's.
Shoulder - dress, jacket, demi-season coat, winter coat.
And waist - skirt, skirt-pants, classic trousers and jeans.
In the men's version, only waist products - 4 options for trousers - classic, jeans, low-waisted and loose.
It is possible to set 4 options for collars - stand, English, shawl and turn-down. You can also change the types of sleeves - two-seam, one-seam, with a tuck and a shirt.

The program is also available in free and paid versions. I have a good video about where to find, how to download and install the program. I'll tell you my opinion.
For beginners - good opportunities. You can build both the basic foundations of products according to your own standards, and simulate the result obtained with a change in the location of lines and points.
And if you download and install Burda magazine pattern add-ons, you can open any magazine pattern in the program and edit it for yourself. Not bad, right?
I have a paid option now. This version is already on my computer and you can multiply patterns with gradation in it, you can immediately enter seam allowances. And what I really like about this program is that the best option of many programs is the way to print patterns.
For example, how does printing work in other programs? At best, a built-in output method for A4 sheets. But to arrange the placement of parts on these sheets so that the part fits comfortably and completely on the sheet - this is not the case in most programs. Then we get such patterns, which not only have to be glued together with sheets, but also the part can be located at the junction of the sheets. Then such a printout becomes a real punishment.
And in RedCafe, in the program window, we can immediately see the grid of A4 sheets and move the details the way we want to print them. We can rotate parts, swap. This is what the grid looks like with A4 sheets and patterns before I arranged the layout of the parts on the sheets: 4 sheets of paper are consumed and two parts of the pattern require gluing:
And this is how the layout of the parts looks like with a more convenient and economical layout for printing: only 2 sheets are used and only one part of the back of the bra requires gluing.
Also, in the paid RedCafe, you can display any pattern in dxf format and bring it into the Optitex program. For what? read the next paragraph:

So, I've been mastering it for a long time, more than 3 years.
What the program cannot do: this is the main disadvantage - there is no way to automatically build a pattern - only with pens. It's long. But if you wish, you can also create this - it is called a parametric pattern.
What it is? I myself did not immediately delve into this term and did not understand its capabilities. But it's a thing! If I once build a drawing of the base of the dress, for example, in this program using any method - at least according to Muller, at least in my own way. And I will set the algorithm - that is, I will introduce variables, then later the pattern will be rebuilt automatically when the variables change.
In fact, it will turn out a finished program in the program. But you have to sit - to work hard. So after all, you can create algorithms for any product - for underwear and bras, in particular, I'm interested. Imagine - you opened the program, entered the numbers of your measurements and received a pattern of a swimsuit or a bust or something that you will not find anywhere else. But the disadvantage of creating parametrics in Optitex is that there are many difficulties. In Valentina, building parametrics is very simple and fast. So I didn’t even study the construction of parametrics in Optitex.
But on the other hand, the optitex program has a 3d mannequin, on which you can try on the resulting patterns in the form of a finished product, you can change the texture and properties of fabrics, the volumes and measurements of the mannequin. You can even make the mannequin come to life and walk back and forth.
Even in this program, you can immediately build an adjacent product on the mannequin and, tapping with a hammer, remove the pattern.
You can also bring a pattern into Optitex from other programs - by import. For example, from the paid RedCafe.
In general, an excellent program for pros, for enthusiastic and advanced.
